GRAP foundation since 1983
GRAP is the Amsterdam' foundation for pop music dedicated to promote and support young musical talent based in Amsterdam. GRAP advises and promotes artists, bands and acts and makes relevant information available to them. Also GRAP acts as an intermediary between local government and various organisations who share a common interest with GRAP's objectives.
GRAP is the driving force behind a number of competitions, showcases and festivals covering a wide range of genres of pop music, such as Wanted, the hip hop and R&B competition; Freestyle for the GRAP, the Dutch freestyle competition; the Amsterdamse Popprijs, competition for Amsterdam' pop bands; Vinylized, the Dutch dance producer's competition; Mooie Noten, the Amsterdam' pop-song competition; Spelen voor de GRAP, offering up and coming talent a stage. Also, GRAP hosts bands at the Amsterdam Roots Festival and is (music)producer of the Amsterdam Liberation Festival.
