This assignment requires you to analyse and improve handling of variability of finishers in our printer product line software.
The variability in our printer productline continuously increases. The number of simultaneously supported finishers and their capabilities (stapling, cutting, punching, folding, gluing, jogging, sorting etc.) leads to high complexity: Each combination of a printer model with a specific permutation of finishers causes unique features to arise.
You will help to identify the architecture features that enable the efficient and effective handling of this complexity. You will analyse what the bottlenecks are, sketch the goal architecture and realistic route we can take. You will support you proposal with prototypes. You will use model driven development, plug-in architectures, and whatever else you bring in the mix to handle variability and to achieve the decoupling needed.
We will provide you with enthusiastic support and allow you to tap into the knowledge Océ has build during 20+ years of software productline development.
You can handle high complexity and break problems down to pieces that can be handled. You are eager to bring your ideas to life in prototypes. You will work together with architects of various domains, to build your understanding of current status and alternatives, to check your ideas etc.
