Dit bedrijf is an organisation for international cooperation and solidarity that aims to change beliefs that lead to hatred and violence. To do this, we’ve joined forces with hundreds of partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. With people who dare to go against the current, who stick their necks out and stand up for justice, inclusion and equality. Together we facilitate dialogue between people on each side of a conflict. We inspire consideration and discussion of harmful beliefs, so that mutual hatred and mistrust can decrease. Our team in The Hague consists of about 30 people who work daily with passion and commitment, on building a world without violence.

For the JISRA programme, we are looking for a communication intern

dit bedrijf is implementing a 5-year program, the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA), to promote freedom of religion or belief in seven countries in Africa and Asia. The programme is run with four other consortium partners and multiple local partners. Dit bedrijf is the Lead organisation of the international JISRA consortium, coordinating the joint communications and campaigns. 
The Arabic word Jisr’ means bridge, which perfectly symbolises what JISRA aims to do: build bridges between divided communities. The JISRA consortium works with a great variety of local faith-based actors, partners, networks, youth organisations and women’s organisations to support, capacitate and amplify inclusive voices and policies. The unique composition allows JISRA to work within faith communities as well as with high level decision makers.

Werkzaamheden

What are you going to do?

Develop compelling written and visual content for various communication channels:

• Create engaging and informative content for JISRA's website, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
• Craft compelling narratives that effectively communicate the NGO's mission, impact, and key messages.
• Use tools such as Canva to enhance content with visually appealing elements.
• Organise consortium-wide campaigns, developing detailed plans outlining objectives, target audience, messaging, and tactics.

Contribute to the creation of newsletters, blogs, and other promotional materials:

• Collaborate on the development of newsletters, ensuring timely and relevant content.
• Write insightful blog posts that highlight JISRA's initiatives, success stories, and lessons learned.
• Assist in the design and distribution of materials to increase awareness and engagement.

Assist in managing and growing our social media presence across platforms:

• Execute social media strategies to increase followership, engagement, and overall online presence.
• Create shareable content that aligns with the both MM and JISRA’s goals and values.

Participate in the planning and execution of events, both virtual and in-person:

• Contribute to event planning, including logistics, coordination, and promotion.
• Assist in post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and future opportunities.

Support the reporting of the programme, for the annual and mid-term reports:

• Review and refine written content for grammatical accuracy, coherence, and clarity.
• Maintain consistency in formatting and layouts throughout the reports, utilizing software tools to arrange text, images, and data for visual appeal.
• Help consortium members and the monitoring and evaluation team with data and stories collection.
• Collaborate with team members and consortium members for consistent messaging.
• Provide editing assistance and minute taking in meetings.

Gewenste profiel

You are our ideal intern if you...

• Are a student or graduate of a college or university program in the field of communication, journalism, international relations or another relevant study;
• Are creative with words and images; experience with graphic programs (such as Canva) is a plus;
• Speak and write fluent English, Dutch is also beneficial.
• Have an interest in international cooperation, are open to other cultures, religions and other ideas, and have an affinity with working towards peaceful societies;
• Are a go-getter who is full of good ideas and who likes to take initiative;
• Be flexible: you see a plan that turns out differently than expected as a challenge;
• Have experience with the use of social media for communication and campaigns.
