The this company is looking for a project logistics and events intern (38 hours/week) to support the project “Fair, Transparent, and Accountable Criminal Justice System in Ukraine Phase II” (abbreviated as “Accountability II”) as well as other projects and events when necessary.
CILC is a global project organization based in The Hague, Netherlands that focuses on international legal cooperation and capacity building. CILC promotes the rule of law by developing and implementing international legal cooperation projects, and we bring together legal expertise from different countries to develop solutions for various challenges within legal systems in transition. The specific project for which we are recruiting an intern aims to develop a fair, transparent and accountable criminal justice system in Ukraine. It is part of the larger Dutch project “Restoring Dignity and Justice in Ukraine: A whole-of-government approach to advancing accountability for international crimes,” which we are implementing in collaboration with the T.M.C. Asser Institute, the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).
Werkzaamheden
CILC is looking for an intern to assist primarily with tasks relating to coordination, planning, and implementation of activities, events, and meetings associated with the implementation of the projects in Ukraine and other relevant events.
You will support the project manager and project officer in organizing logistics of missions as well as of events in the Netherlands and abroad. This includes coordinating with hotels , conference details, and meal arrangements, handling travel logistics for a wide variety of stakeholders, and aligning with experts and participants on availability. The intern will also help with financial administration, which includes but is not limited to processing invoices, communicating with CILC’s finance department and project experts on payment requests, and handling logistics regarding financial reporting. The intern will also assist the project team with the organizing and archiving of (digital) documentation.
The position offers hands-on experience in the implementation and logistics of international legal cooperation and international project coordination in a multidisciplinary, cross-cultural environment.
The ideal candidate is a Bachelor’s or Master’s student in hospitality management, management and organization, facility management, leisure or event management, or a similar type of education, with strong organizational and communication skills. Please note that being registered as a student is a requirement for this position; please do not apply if you will not be registered as a student for the duration of the internship.
In this role, you will:
- Support the project team with logistical and administrative support for the implementation of international projects. This includes working with hotels and conference locations to coordinate all relevant affairs (from booking rooms to advising on the setup of the meeting space, and so on), booking flights, arranging visas; handling event management for interpretation/translation services and other affairs; supporting financial project administration; and developing communications materials.
- Attend meetings where required and take minutes.
- Be a contact point for experts, local partners, and partner organizations in project implementation and procurement on administrative and logistical issues.
- Make sure invoices are booked and processed in a timely matter and in accordance with financial rules.
- Facilitate communication and coordination of tasks among researchers, consultants, and institutions.
- Assist in the organization of online meetings, focus groups, and workshops, including drafting minutes and following up on action points.

- Fluency in English (proficiency in Ukrainian is considered an advantage but is in no way required).
- Experience with Excel, Word, PDF (Adobe Acrobat).
- An educational background in administration, hospitality, event, facility or leisure management, project management.
- The capability to work collaboratively in a small team and the willingness to occasionally work flexibly to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- The ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Preferably living in the region of The Hague (limited possibility of online working).
